The Ancestors Altar on the mantle...

....and the outside. Halloween night, everyone at the party rushed outside to see all the bats that swarmed the front yard, diving and swooping around us. I've never seen anything quite like it in all the time we've lived here. They put on quite a show which lasted over half an hour. And every so often one of the pair of owls that live in the tree outside the herb room would glide by - a giant, silent silhouette.
