Simple Scents and
Magical Aromatherapy
for the Home

Although I have about umpteen-kazzilion animals in my house, I don't want my home to
smell like they're there! I also love hearing that whenever my nieces catch a whiff of cinnamon or
cedar in a store, they smile and sigh: "It smells just like Auntie Lora's house!"
I've recently become hooked on a new way to add this olfactory ambience to my home -
in addition to good old fashioned soap and elbow grease, that is!

In a regular old spray bottle, pour about 1/3 cup of cheap nasty vodka. Add to this about 3 to 6 droppers-full of your favorite combination of essential oils. (stronger or weaker depending on room size and your preference) Shake it up, then top it off with water and shake again. |
Then, once or twice a day, mist the room in the same way you'd use the commercial sprays. (Focus on the rugs and upholstery while steering away from glass) Your homemade version will last alot longer, be much more effective and you get to personalize the fragrance to suit yourself and the atmosphere you want to create!
Apply your aromatherapy knowledge here - for instance: Jasmine in the bedroom if you have trouble sleeping. Lightly mist the pillows and sheets as you make the bed in the morning or when you turn down the covers at night.
| You can have a different bottle for every
room. I like the clean, fresh fragrance of Lavender in the bathroom where the cat boxes are located. The combined scents of Cinnamon, Orange and Clove creates a warm and cozy welcome for guests in the living room. |

You can even incorporate your knowledge of magical herbs and oils.... |
How about spraying Bay and Frankincense around for protection?
(Depending upon your mental focus and visualization, this would also help with
general prosperity)
Or Rose and Tuberose along with a pink candle after a quarrel with your
spouse?
Do you have a special area of your home for meditation or divination? Try
Sandalwood & Cedar to heighten your psychic ability.
How about if you own a shop and business is slow? Try misting with
Frankincense, Orange and Cinnamon just before opening.
(The Orange in this combination is for attracting or drawing something to
you. The Frankincense specifies What you want to attract (money,
prosperity) and the Cinnamon act as a catalyst on the other two while also
contributing to the "money" vibrations. For more on this, see
"Concerning
the Magical Properties of Herbs & Oils")
By the way - some of these oils (like Tuberose, for instance) you probably won't find as essential oils. However, I have to disagree (strongly) with those who claim that fragrance oils don't work magically. In my almost 30 years of experience, if they are of good quality, they usually work just fine!
